Cannot move spline handles (for curves) or move spline points

Hi,

I'm unsure if this is a bug or I'm doing something incorrectly - I'm a fusion 360 beginner so will happily take any suggestions. I'm trying to create a horizontal pipe form that curves around the existing pipe forms. The sketched spline shows roughly what I'm trying to achieve. But I cannot adjust the curves of the spline sketch once it's set, even though I've got the tangent green handles selected and am unable to move the points themselves. As in 'click and drag' but they stay locked in position. Once I finish and close sketch mode, I can move the points using Move/Copy however that doesn't allow me to adjust the curves of the spline sketch line (on the forum I see more responses suggest using Move/Copy). As far as I can tell there is no locking coincidences. I've tried restarting fusion in case it's bug but that makes no difference.

Is this a 3D spline? If so, drag will not work, you'll need to use the Move command to adjust the spline tangent handles.

For what it's worth - working with a 2D spline, as soon as a constraint is applied to any point along the spline I am unable to further edit the spline. Makes them extremely difficult to use.

What you say about a 2D Spline, as far as I am concerned, is not true. Take a look at the Screencast and I give two examples and move any unconstrained point of the splines.

select and right click on that spline. Do you see "Move to Sketch Plane" in the context menu?

If so, then it is a 3D spline.

If you share your design here, it'll be easier to diagnose.

Thank you for sharing the screencast.

Here's a screencast showing the desired behavior (similar to what you show in your screencast), as well as what I've been observing.

When a spline is constrained relative to a newly-drawn circle, it adjusts as expected.

When a spline is constrained relative to the drawing I'm working on, I can't adjust it.

As others have mentioned, please share your design (export as .f3d and attach to next post).

Splines in Fusion 360 still have a number of bugs which can be really frustrating to work around. That might apply to this design, or it might not. We'll see!

I selected move to sketch plane, this point moves vertically but it doesn't move horizontally at this view. I want to move this point to any where. Could you help me?

Same exact issue. Was a solution ever figured out? That "move to the sketch plane" thing is available, and sure enough, when I rotate my view I can see that the spline is not staying constrained to the plane I'm working on. I have 3D sketching disabled in the preferences, and I've never had something from a sketch escape into 3D like this. What is happening?

3D sketch is turned off in my Sketch Palette as well.

Hello there,
three years later and the problem still persists.
I could neither manipulate the tangent handles of the splines (1), (3) nor even move the end point of the simple line (2) with the mouse cursor.
However, as seen in (3), all elements can be manipulated as expected by dimensioning.

Please also see the file attached (as requested).

I've had similar problems occasionally before, but this time it's really jarring.
Hope this can help in finally fixing the bug (which does not only affect splines as it seems).

The bug is related to the fix constraint you used an a number of the other sketch elements. If you remove that fix constraint from any of the elements, it should w9ork (it worked on my side). Thaks for providing the design!

Thanks for the heads up. The spline handle should be movable without using dimensions.

UPDATE: While investigating this post, I discovered the reason.

There is a bug that you can see when you make any sketch element coincident to the origin. The coincident constraint cannot then be deleted. When you do this to a spline, you end up with the result described in this post. I've linked the two bug reports and they belong with the same development team anyway. Thanks!
