Fusion update breaks 'Lock to Sketch Plane' in SpaceMouse Settings (MacOS)

I'm pretty certain I've narrowed this down to the 2.0.20256 update as it works flawlessly in 2.0.19994. Initially I thought it was related to the Sequoia update, however even when I did a clean install of Sonoma and Fusion, it still didn't work. The only way I was able to restore a version of Fusion *.19994 was from a Time Machine backup, which I now have 14 days before the update will be forced. Prior to getting to this point I had tried all of the various suggestions on this (and related) topics between the 3dConnexion and Fusion forms.

I tested this out with the latest release on a 2020 m1 mini with macOS 14.5. No problem found.

It's strange you would see that in two machines. Did you check these settings?

Thank you for the response. My settings are the same with the exception that I am at 10.8.4 for the spacemouse driver. I actually have three computers (macOS 15, macOS 14.7, Windows 11) that I can replicate it on. I'm also working with both a spacemouse and wireless. The only thing that reliably locks the orbit is the Rotations On/Off setting via a programmed button. Of course, it locks it in any mode (solid or sketch) so it's not as seamless as having it automatically lock when in sketch mode. This is a usable option with the enterprise because there is a dedicated button with an LED to indicate that it's on, less convenient with the wireless because there's no indication that it's locked.

I figured it out.

Your camera is Perspective.
Using perspective camera now defeats sketch lock. In the older builds it does not.
I confirmed this by comparing old and latest builds with perspective camera

Workaround: try the perspective with ortho faces camera to keep sketch lock functionality, while we work on the issue. (FUS-172774)

UPDATE: The above mentioned ticket is closed. It was logged in error. This was an intentional change.

What was going on?

You have Perspective or Perspective with Ortho faces camera
Entering sketch was turning the camera into Ortho
This is against the user wishes who have set Perspective camera, so the fix now does not force Ortho camera.
- Users with perspective camera lost sketch lock, because Ortho camera was no longer intruding into a perspective camera sketch workflow.

The workaround for 3Dconnexion users is to use Perspective with Ortho Faces. Use Look At command manually, or use the preference "Auto look at sketch". When the sketch is active and you look orthographically at it, the camera will switch to Ortho because of the "ortho faces" aspect. Sketch lock will function while looking at the sketch plane orthographically.
