Hi,

1. I prefer an „As Built Joint“ (rigid) between one component and the primary designcomponent instead of grounding that component.

2. please show the behaviour in a screencast and share the Design.

günther

Hey guys, Im projecting and 3D printer, but Im trying to make a joint between the carrier and the rail, but I cant, I already tried to do the as built joint, selecting the sliding motion, but It wont move afterwards. Can anybody help me ?

Hi,

Have you fixed (grounded) a component or alternatively created a rigid joint with the primary component (Browser: design title )?

günther

I grounded the rails and about rigid constraints you said, I didnt understand what you mean by that. I do have some rigid constraints, but they are the joints necessary for the assembly, like the joining the hole of the screws in two different parts. In the image I show the two componenets I want to assembly together, in an sliding motion. At the present state, I can move them freely, but after any joint I try to make, all my components stop moving

Can you help me ? I think I can explai It better now, I delete all my joints to try to simplify them, but still cant make my assembly move in the rails. I made an rigid group between all the moving parts of the Z axis ( of the 3D printer I'm designing, not the z axis of Fusion) , then I made the same thing with all the other moving parts(not the moving parts of the Z axis and not the base rails). Then I tried to make the Z movement by making a joing between the vertical linear rail( included in the second rigid group I made) with the linear bearing( included in the first rigid group, the one of the Z axis). But then my model stopped the relative Z movement. Then also when I try to make the as built join with the base rails, selecting the linear motion, my assembly also stops moving relative in the rail axis( they move together with all the other parts). So at the end, the only relative movement left is the movement of the red cart.
