FYI, I found a workaround. If you put both solid bodies in the same component, they'll stay together. Otherwise, if they're separate components, it appears to try and separate them for printing.

I have a part that required some supports, but I wanted to build my own custom support for the model. So, I made a second component just beneath the first, offset the faces to give it a small gap so they'd separate, and went to generate some g-code to print it out.

I've done this once before and it worked fine. But, this particular model keeps moving my support out from under the primary part, putting it in a very odd spot on the build plate. Why is it doing this? And, if this isn't "allowed", I would suggest either allowing parts beneath other parts without failing a check, or I'd suggest allowing the selection of custom support components with alternate print settings to reduce material waste.

Link to this design:

https://a360.co/2PAyeum
