SINUMERIK 808D Control - post processors for lathe use

HI, Can anyone tell me if there is available a post processor for the 808D for use with a cnc lathe? I have brought a machine that has this controller thinking i can use Fusion 360 but i cannot find a suitable post processor, any help appreciated

Hi @brian3NFQE ,

Have you tried the Siemens turning post processor on our download site? I have looked at the documentation and I think it should be close for 808d. If it doesn't work I would be curious to know why.

Thankyou Will, i will give it a try, i am new to this and i thought it needed to be quiet specific, but as i say, i will try this out and feedback

Why is it every post processor i can find for the 808D controller is for milling use, why are none written for lathes?

Does anyone know who would write me a post processor to suit the 808D for a lathe?

Hi @brian3NFQE ,

The post I linked for this machine in my earlier message is specifically for turning. If that doesn't work on your machine then let us know and provide the details of what does not work and we can maybe help you out.

Hello, did this get solved in the end please? I am considering buying an AJAT 210 lathe from AJAX in the UK and it uses siemens 808D, and I really want to be able to post from fusion. Can I?

Hi,

Sorry went down the route of employing a CNC programmer to set it all up, i think he wrote his own post processor.

I just found it very frustrating trying to hunt for one and no-one really did one
