Failing to build thread body tool with small pitch

Hi,

first of all – sorry if this is a trivial issue, this is my first modelling project.

I was trying to create a cylinder that can be screwed into a camera lens filter thread.

To make my cylinder fit, I need a 67mm diameter (lens thread size) and a 0.75mm pitch, according to this thread: https://photo.stackexchange.com/a/90955/94933

Because there was no preset for my needs, I created a custom thread profile with the correct pitch size and diameter.

Unfortunately, Fusion 360 will fail with the message "Error: Failed to build thread tool body." when trying to enable the "Modeled" property on the threading tool.

Prior to this approach, I tried to create a coil with the same measurements, but Fusion 360 throws the same error for all pitch sizes under 10mm.

What am I doing wrong here?

I found my (rather stupid) mistake when working with the coil tool.

When configuring a small pitch like -0.75mm, you obviously have to configure a smaller section size – otherwise the coil would intersect itself.
When choosing a section size of something like 0.5 mm, the coil can be created.

I already had an XML file with some photo threads so I've added 67mm, see attached file. It does 1mm and 0.75mm pitches with the correct form, ID and OD.
