I've noticed if you have a component active and try creating a mirror the document origin is made visible and you end up selecting a document plane rather than a plane from the active component. This seems wrong and something I've had to workaround and fix for a long time!

This causes problems if you move the component before the mirror was created or use copy paste new into a new document.

You can see the problem here after paste new into another document.

Edit. Testing and it also happens with patterns.

But a sketch created in the component uses the correct origin plane so the bug is not in all features.

Yep, that same behavior (the document origin becomes visible even when decidedly hidden) happens in other places. For example when using the boundary fill tool, where it really gets in the way!

I've also noticed while editing components sometimes the document origin stays visible after you finish editing a feature but it is still shown as hidden in the browser. This is a long time bug going back years!

EDIT. Example from today.

I see the issue. This could be confusing.

The workaround is to use the selection powers of the browser. Pick the plane you wish from the list in the browser, it's explicit and accurate.

I do that now as I know about the problem. The thing is if you don't know the document origin is always activated in this situation you end up with components that are not self contained so break if copied to another design. Or create a reference plane if you save a copy of the component.

Think this is just an oversight because when you create a sketch it works correctly and activates the component origin. I always try and keep components as self contained as possible and feel it makes the design more robust and helps with performance.

There is no argument here. I agree.

When I post a workaround it is for all customers, and only is intended to provide a way to use Fusion without causing further complications.
