First off, I don't do social media stuff so this is the only place I know to share my experience.

I was hoping the little bit I use F360 for that the changes to "Non Commercial use" wouldn't effect me, it didn't take long to discover boy was I wrong!

I went in to edit a tool path this morning only to find "3D/ Steep and Shallow" isn't supported without showing you the money.

I have just one issue with this entire shift in usage policy. If I had known five years ago you were going to pull a bait and switch game on us I would never have wasted all my time learning this program! I could have saved myself all the effort and spent it on FreeCAD and been done with it.

So, this is me saying thanks for screwing me Autodesk!!!

Of course this will change nothing, I (and others) just get bent over.

I always wondered why it was "FREE".

@Anonymous The personal use change goes into effect tomorrow (October 1st). What you see today is how it has always been. Steep & Shallow has always been part of the extensions pack.

Steep and Shallow (and the rest of the MFG Extension) was opened up for free for a very limited time during the beginnings of the Great Pandemic of 2020. It was free for all users for a couple short months of time as people made the adjustment of working from home. This was made clear in the beginning when it was released and should not have come as a shock to most users.

I will point out that Steep and Shallow is essentially an amalgamation of Scallop and 3D Contour and the resulting toolpath is very similar to what S&S can get you.

Here's a link of when we made this available to all for a limited time
