It is extremely hard to answer your question on recovery without seeing the assembly. When I suggested to go back in versions I meant to go to the first one that was not screwed up and start from there. It is not starting over but it may need a bit more work.

For some reason most of the joints in my file became sick. It's impossible to fix them.

The error on each joint says: "Position calculation failed due to initialization error"

I tried the following:

Reselect joint origins.

Delete and recreate the joint - it actually let's me delete the joint but when I try to create it again it fails.

Compute all - this basically creates a complete chaos in the design and breaks almost everything..

Run the following TXT command: Fusion.RebuildOccurrences

None of the above works. I spent over a week of work in total on this design and now it became useless!!!!!

It seems that there went something terribly wrong in the joints department. For example when I delete the joint in the timeline, it's not being removed in the browser. It's like the link between the two is broken.

The same thing happened for me some time ago in a different design and the only solution I found...was to start over. I'm sorry, but this time I just can't accept throwing a week's worth of work to trash. Especially that this is a commercial project with a very tight time schedule!

How about opening a previous version? If this does not have the same error, maybe you can recover from it. I assume, since this is a commercial project, you can not attach your design.

It goes back many versions. I just didn't notice before.

What might have happened at some point is the following:

I have a few derrived bodies from different designs.

I might have done "Get Latest" when one of the referenced designs was saved with a timeline rolled back to a point when the derrived bodyd didn't exist yet.

BOOM this might messed up my main design.

It's just a theory, but it might be the cause.

Anyway, Fusion should be smarter than that and don't allow it to break the design like that.

Is there any way I can fix it? Or is it standard answer "start over"?
