Must read! Adding Manual inspection and Setup Sheets to Fusion360 Mobile

Since the new update I have been thinking how it would be absolutely amazing if one was able to view setups sheets, tool library data, and perform manual inspections on the mobile platform. If this were possible, my operator could have access to the latest setup sheets, the tool table data, individual operations, and then even be able to do a basic inspection. Having this functionality could eliminate the need for setup sheets and greatly speed up inspection reports. The URL for the part could be put in the job traveler as a barcode, scan the URL pulls up the latest Fusion rev and the manufacturing process from setup to inspection!

When a tool breaks, you could go to the fusion app, look at the tool table data (if fusion included a bin location in the tool info) one could walk over to the bin and check out a new one! One could determine actual rate information and history based on how often the operator is recording!

There is soooo much potential here!!!

Have you been using Manual Inspection much?

If so how have you been getting on with it?

We would be using manual inspection as an inprocess manual inspection to supplement our final inspection reports but we do not have a extra PC next to the machines and this has really has been limiting the practical use, hence this post. Once manual inspection and the tool table are also available on the mobile app we would jump in.

There needs to be some work done on it because as of now if you create a manual inspection you cant go back and edit views, and little things like if the bore isnt a perfect cylinder it doesnt register as anything. And It would be ideal to be able to call out RMS, GD&t constraints etc.

Obvious improvements:-

Able to fully edit a previously defined inspection routine.

Allow section analysis along with a view. <-- !!

Multiple comments fields. I'll often define a piece of equipment (mic, depth vernier, etc) to measure a specific dimension.

A manual input. A leader arrow with an instruction to check a thread depth for example.

Partial radius, chamfers.

Thank you very much for the constructive feedback, some of what you have said is already in the pipeline. So keep an eye on future updates.

I will defiantly pass on the other comments to the team, this was the whole idea behind releasing this so soon.

I'm glad you have used Manual Inspection and seen the value in it.
