Reorder to minimize tool changes was working; Now it's not!

Up to now the "Reorder to minimize tool changes" function has worked flawlessly for multiple setups with different WCS. However today it's not working as expected. Not sure what has changed but even older CAM files that were posted earlier this week using the same post processor won't reorder operations now. I'm baffled. I've attached the model file and the post I'm using. I believe I must be overlooking something simple unless something in Fusion has changed recently?

I've opened a case with Autodesk support. I'll report back what I find out.

Autodesk Customer Support called me this afternoon and told me that with this latest update there seems to be a problem with this post processor feature. The work around for now is to right-click on the "Setups" folder in the Browser tree and then select "Create NC Program" as shown in the image below.

This will bring up a window in which you will have to choose the post-processer, and other options similar to the Post Process window. To reorder operations click on the Operations tab at the top and then choose the "Reorder to minimize tool changes" box at the bottom. See image below.

They assured me that the development team was working on a solution. I'd like to know if anyone else is having this problem and if this solution has helped you. Thanks.

I use this feature daily, I am also experiencing the same problem. The solution posted has not fixed my problem. I'm running a program with 16 work offsets and the program is calling out the same tool multiple times after the update, prior to the update the tool would be called out once and do all the work on all work offsets. Very annoying!

Same thing here. Only the first few tools will be reorganized when using NC Programs, and then the rest just stay as is.

It seems the logic has reverted back to the original HSM version from a few years ago where it would only reorganize the tools if the first operation had every tool in it.

It seems the tools have to be in the same order in each setup in order to reorganize the order and keep all tools together. This adds very little value for real world applications. While I cant be certain, It seems this used to work better than this.

I agree, I do not see the benefit of t his change. Programs ran much more efficiently before this update was made. Very upsetting. Anyone from Autodesk care to chime in?

Do you have an example you can share, preferably something already setup with "Use Multiple Offsets" and NC programs already created, giving us the best glimpse at what you are expecting and what you are getting for results

Ok I used the NC program and it did fix the problem. So thats better , I am not used to that way so it may take so getting used to. But I will give it a try , Thanks

I have the same problem since the last update, I use 36 work offsets now tool reorder wont work, I cant run any new program on my machines. I hope Autodesk clear this issue soon.

I did not find a solution to this problem. When posting as an NC program it only organizes certain tools, not equivalent to the logic the software had prior to update.

We are currently looking into fixing this issue. Could you elaborate on what you mean by "...it only organizes certain tools..." If you can make a simple example that shows the issue that would be great.

Thank you for your reply. The problem with tool reorder is:

It organizes the tools one by one according to the operation tool and once it completes a part the cycle starts a new in a new g coordinate. For example lets say we have 5 g coordinates and 3 tool operation. Before the update machine would call the first tool and finish operation in all 5 G coordinates them call the next tool and finish operation in 5 G coordinates and same for the following tools.

After the latest update machine calls the first tool and ONLY finish operation in first G coordinate then call for the next tool and finish operation in first G coordinate after all the necessary tools complate the first G coordinate then it starts over with second G coordinate. This couses too many tool changes and time.

That is exactly what I am experiencing. I do not know why Autodesk would sabotage a feature that was working great for so many people. The new update really caused me to start looking for a new CAM package.

Can anyone confirm if this has been fixed with the latest update? If not can anyone from Autodesk let me know if this is something that will be fixed (back to the way it was prior to update?)
