No matter what I enter for maximum roughing stepdown, it only steps 0.002". If I change it to say 0.004" and click on the 3 vertical dots, it shows 0.002" in the dialog that opens up. I don't use Fusion a lot, so it's kind of like learning all over again each time I use it, but this is a new one on me.

Could you please attach your model and also indicate in which operation you are seeing this. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

I have successfully changed all the 2D Adaptive Configurations to anything I desire and it works well. What value do you really want?

Edit: I went ahead and assigned 0.02 inches to all the Adaptive Processes and attached your model. Let me know if it works for you on your system.

John, that's wonderful, but what did you do? I'd like to know how to deal with that situation for the next time. I'm using an Othermill (small desktop CNC), so I'm limited with the depth of cuts I can take. I've been using 0.002" for awhile trying to be conservative, but now I think I can increase the depth a little. I was going to try 0.003" or 0.004" just to see how if it would cause any problems.

Thanks for be so prompt with your response.

OK, I tried that too, and although Fusion shows the correct number, when the machine steps down, it only steps by 0.002". Maybe it's not a Fusion problem, but a problem with the machine software/firmware.

Thanks for your help.
