Hello,

i keep on struggling in front of fusion 360. Error messages don't help me to correct my datas. Is there a error manual somewhere? So now i have an

Enabled feature flags: setup-sheet-viewer tool-library-v4-release

Generation completed successfully in 970.8ms.

Warning: Empty toolpath.

Can someone decrypt this ?

Other thing, if i refresh a page where yesterday i posted something, i've got a 404 internet error. So if i google for this error message and i find a hit, when i click, it's 404...

Thanks for your time...

https://a360.co/34l8qJy

if you have an empty toolpath you likely have an incorrect tool selected (like a 1/2 endmill doing a 1/4 slot) or there is stock to leave on which is greater than the difference between the tool and the feature you are cutting. if its in turning try enabling spun profile.

"Empty tool path" generally means you made a fatal error in your workflow, something way off target from expected.

It looks like your geometry selection in second setup is the cause.

Yes! For pockets, i must choose the bottom curve of the profile, and for this operation i must choose the top curve of the profile? Or is this related to the bottom height in the height section?

Anyway thanks man!

There were actually two mistakes ...

1 - In second setup, Z axis was pointing in same direction as in first setup

I reversed Z axis and assigned G55 to second setup

2 - In pocket operation you selected top and bottom edge

You only need to select top or bottom edge, not both. Next, select heights relative to selected edge to define boundaries for clearance, retract etc.

This forum sucks... I made a nice answer and when i clicked on post, 404 error, all is lost... I don't anderstand.

So i was saying that i have to mill the 0.5 mm for the finish with a ball end tool, and when i choose parallel operation, silhouette mills only the filet on the outside, and if i select the same curve as for adaptative, it mills the edge of the inside contour, but not the flat surface. For the filet, i choosed morph operation but i don't know if it 's smart. Here is my file again : https://a360.co/34l8qJy

Is there a way to see the part once milled (after simulation) and inspect it?

Many thanks

You can use flat e-mill and 2d contour to finish top, I selected both outer edges for parallel.

For the fillet, 2mm step over in morph will give very rough finish, I used ramp instead.

Scallop does more complete job on top edge but tool jumps around a lot, needs some experimenting with variables.

Tried Blend but for some reason it says it's not compatible with current setup.

Sorry to be so rude, i just find weird to get a 404 error when refreshing, for instance, a page from the day before. I don't remember this on other forums, so i have to start from the dashboard to be sure. That's all.

Nevertheless, i like this forum, and it's content. I learned a lot...

Hey VikCosta, how are you?

So i tried the tool paths for real on a cnc router, and it was a good thing. So i made the 2 first operations correctly, but for parallel ope it does not mill nothing. Actually, z does not move, so it does not make the filet!!! At all, lol!!

HI, I don't recall modifying anything on your first side. Look at the Ramp and Scallop tool paths on second side compared to Parallel on first side.

I think you need to use either Ramp or Scallop on your first side to do the fillet, use example from side two.

You had problem in setup, you must set orientation of axis to be in sink with machine axis orientation and you need to select body, model that you want to cut in that setup.

I thought it was done, as i have been able to generate 2 tool paths correctly. I milled correctly also.

So it's ok for Z axis as i can select the top face of the model, but for x axis, as it is circular i don't know. I see you select an edge of the basic planes, don't know the name, but how does it appear in your drawing, i don't see it on mine...Sorry i begin...

I made a two sketch lines on XZ plane at model origin and used sketch line to orient X axis in setup.

Because part is round you need some entity to reference X axis and making a sketch line satisfies that requirement.

You can pick YZ options from list but again, you must have something on part to use as orientation for both axis.

I assume you are using 3 axis mill, if you are using router and axis are arranged in different direction, just match positive side of selected axis in setup with those on your machine.

If you don't set setup correctly, you have problems later when you try to create tool paths.
