Good morning, okay that makes sense then. I did a wrap tool-path on the slots for a different look.

One thing I didn't like when machining, is the machine would be very jerky - especially when it did the corners of the slots. Any advice on how to fix that? Also, when it moved from slot to slot, it would move in short increments instead of one continuous movement.

Looks to me my post processor needs a little help, any suggestions?

Good day everyone,

trying to make a brake on our mill/turn, see how it turns out.

I've posted two different screenshots of my NC code, one is when I wrap the toolpath, and the other is unwrapped. The wrapped toolpath feeds are crazy fast, and I am not sure how to fix this. I've attached the part for you to look at.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hi

The Feeds look fast but actually aren't. When you have a combination of linear and rotary feeds they can look unusually large but that's because the post processor is doing a calculation of what the combined feed rate should be to get the actual desired movement on the machine, this is also why the feed is changing on every line.

If you actually run it on the machine it should be fine.

There aren't any wrapped features on the part though, unless you were doing a chamfer on the slots?

For The Jerkiness on the rapid moves you can change the High feed rate in the linking tab to Always use High feed

As for the toolpath I'm not sure, it could be post related but it could just be the machines controller doesn't like code like that.
