I would avoid plunging with a neutral 35deg tool. Its hard on tip since you will have chips pushing against each other on the tip which is the most fragile part of the insert. I don't know what your groove profile looks like but here is a pic of a pulley groove that I did with a 35deg neutral tool using a Profile Roughing and Finishing strategy:

With the tool plunging in at a angle it only cuts with one side of the tool at a time.

Hopefully this gives some ideas.

What is the best strategy for this?
Not trying to get fancy with multi insert tools, just using a neutral holder and 35* insert I have on hand.
It wont let me pick a VNMG insert for grooving operations, but that plunging approach seems like the best bet for roughing out the grooves.

I suppose I could fake it with a round groove tool but that seems like a terrible solution... which would be very on brand for Fusion Turning!

We do not currently have a good solution for this, unfortunately. I'm not going to defend that response, beyond saying that there's a good amount of ground to cover in the area of Turning, and while we have had many improvements over the last year or two, there is still ample ground to cover. I'll raise this request with the Product Manager and see if there's anything planned in the near term.

It is really easy to bash Fusion for its lack of turning capabilities...Want to program one of the most common applications of a turned part? Sorry, not supported!

But there is also something to be said for finding clever solutions, and the communities willingness to share their fixes.

I have basically the same profile, can you share the Linking Settings tab for that toolpath?
I am having trouble getting anything close to what you have pictured, and probably have something toggled wrong, our our colorizations are different?
