Hi Seth. many thanks for coming back to me. That seems to be when it is travelling at that speed. I will try and find where in mach3 those rates are set up - thank you

Hi, i'm trying to speed up one of my g-code files, so i've adjusted the cutting feedrate, and lead in/out feedrates etc, however when the cutter finishes one operation and moves across the X and Y to position for another cutting operation it is moving at 3000metres per minute. I can't see an option on F360 to change this feedrate. When I open the g-code file and search for F3000, there is nothing, therefore possibly it's a default on mach3 that I ought to change? Any help appreciated, also I altered the cutting feed rate from 8m per minute to 9, however the file run time on the program remained the same. Mach 3 show's it correctly, however is this an issue with my cnc or has anyone else experienced similar issues

Apologies if I'm in the wrong place and should be submitting this to a mach3 forum

If you are using a Personal License, this is expected behavior. Earlier last year (it may have been longer, I've lost track) we changed some aspects of Personal Use. One of those changes was that the rapid moves are replaced by cutting feedrate moves in most instances.

Hi, thanks for the reply, however the cutting feedrate is 9mpm and it's doing the rapid move at 3mpm

argh ok, think i just need to fiddle with the linking parameters

https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/high-feed-rate-vs-rapid-feed-rate-explained/

so would that mean I need to select Always use high feed - and in doing so it would then run at the actual cutting feedrate?

That said, I'd actually like to see your Fusion file, not the resulting g-code (although it doesn't hurt to see that as well.

You can't find F3000 because G00 (rapid maneuver) does not have an F in front of the rate. So it would be G00Z1.0 and not G00F3000Z1.0

When you command a G0 X10. (or other large value) move, what is the feedrate? Looking at the backplot code, it's certainly doing a G00 move:

Is it possible that your machine is set to have max rapid at that feedrate?

Hi Seth, just coming back to you on that, so should I be altering the rapid speed max in mach3 (not sure where this setting is) or should I be setting up the machine in the F360 machine library and setting a max rate? - Basically it's moving at 3000 mm p m but I would like to increase this

You could change your High Feed settings to a large feedrate, but not all toolpaths have that option, nor is the post processor configured to use only High Feedrate. Personally, I'd be looking into Mach3 to find that rapid feedrate settings.
