Sure, and that works for the face. But now try to select the contour at the bottom of the stock. That's what's odd, if I select the face, it's fine, if I select the same curves at the bottom of the stock, it's broken in to multiple curves.

Obviously I could select the face contours and use negative measurements to achieve the same thing, but I don't think that's really how it's supposed to be setup. My question is why there would be a difference between the contours at the front and back of the stock for selection purposes.

Contour selection issue

Certain times I model projects (especially using the Fusion text tool) I end up with multiple contours. I'm sure there's an easy solution for this, but I've just worked around it in the past and haven't really understood it properly. So, on the below model, if I want to do a contour cut, my text is broken in to probably 50-100 separate contours. The radiuses on the letters seems to be the culprit, as you can see from the photo. The question is, how to I select the entire contour in a single selection rather than selecting 100 separate contours?

Do you know about clicking a selected profile so you get the selection toolbar that allows adding more cures to the selection?

This screencast should give you an idea how it works. If this doesn't work can you export your f3d file and share here.

I have followed the same workflow - Created a texted and extruded the text > added a milling setup and selected the outer geometry for all 8 alphabets, the 2D contour geometry seems to be working fine.
With a single click using the geometry tab, the entire outer profile is selected and never ends up with multiple contour selections.

Here is a screenshot for reference.

For some reason I can't see your screencast, it's cut off at the top. But, I'm assuming you're referring to clicking on the contour a second time to get the open/closed contour dialogue? If so, yes, I've done that many times when I'm trying to achieve the opposite result--selecting a section of a contour instead of the entire thing. My question is, how do I do the opposite of that--select a single contour when there are many connected?

It seems to happen because of the corners, Fusion seems to treat them as some sort of square (bottom, sides, and top) and that seems to break the contour, see attached photo...

the contour selection menu ifs finicky. I've run into situations where it won't let me select an open contour. A workaround is to make the sketch visible in the CAM model and select the line you want to machine
