Slow Tool Library

The past few months my tool library has become very slow to open.
We have 8 computers in our workshop and they all struggle to open the tool library, some take longer than others.

This screen will load for anywhere between 30/70 seconds before the tool library has loaded.

I have uninstalled fusion
Cleared my cache
Cleared out my %temp% folder

I did a internet speed test and im getting 50mb down and 30 mb up.

My tool library is quiet large with over 1000 tools.
My library is sorted with multiple folders and libraries.

I don't know what else to try, this is becoming very inconvenient as I am burning hours of time waiting for the tool library to open.

older slower computers definitely struggle with the Tool library

On thing you can do is make sure you turn off any libraries that you aren't using

Turning off the libraries did help, it now takes 30 seconds to load instead of 70. However I still think that waiting 30 seconds for the tool library to load is less than ideal. All our pc's are Dell workstations with decent specs.

30 seconds is Baaad! that's productivity killing slow

I get annoyed on one of our old Workstations that it takes like 5 seconds

30 seconds would be infuriating!

Takes 1.5 seconds on my old PC at home

I could understand it taking a while to open the first time you open Fusion as it loads all the tools into memory but any subsequent openings that session should be pretty quick.

@martha.deans any ideas on improving this further?

Turning off libraries that you aren't using is very good advice, and glad to hear that helped even though I agree 30 seconds is not acceptable.

In recent conversations with engineering about performance, I learned that the number of libraries is not important – it's just the number of tools. So the more tools you can unload by turning libraries off, the better. You can also right-click on a folder to turn off all libraries in that folder which should help streamline the on/off clicks.

In the same vein, if you have any libraries that are vendor content (I don't see any in your screenshot, mentioning just in case), either turning them off or fully removing them in favor of the new Vendor Library node will help by reducing the overall number of tools your library needs to load.

It's always helpful if you can share a video that shows what you are seeing. Is performance bad when you access the tool library at any particular part of your workflow? Is it better or worse when accessing via the toolbar vs via the operation dialog? I will forward this thread to engineering in case they can use any other info and ask for it directly.

Here is a screen recording of the tool library opening.
It takes just as long whether it is the first time you open it for that file, or the 100th time you open it.

Also the 'documents' section of the tool library seems to show documents that clearly arn't open as you can see me point out at the end of the video.

The specs of the computer are:
Intel Xeon E5-1620 v3 @ 3.5ghz

Nvidea Quadro K2200

32Gb Ram

Windows 10 Pro
