you have to put your f3z in a zip file to attach

generally I do x0 left edge, y0 hard jaw, z0 top of finished height for my op 2's. This allows you to have Z depths that make sense.

Have made first set of softjaws. Now beginning to finish part. WCS was set to back left fixed jaw.

The problem I am having is since Z 0 for the part is above Z0 for the fixed jaw and in heights settings things become difficult after facing off the "hat" form Op1.

Is this normal or could I have Z0 top of piece and XY zero back left corner of fixed jaw?

To chamfer I found myself having to modify g code to get correct depth. I feel that perhaps I did something incorrect from beginning.

Have tried to export the file(see attched notice) and unable to fix the issue.

Also notice if I update yellow triangle it moves the part away from softjaws. So have ignored yellow triangles. Any advise will be appreciated

Thank you,

Judge

If your part is sitting in some soft jaws, easiest thing to do is to call Z0 as the bottom of your part. Set your tools on the machined surface where your part sits into the jaws, then you will be good to go. Your machine doesn't care if WCS is top or bottom of part. For example, here is a part I am machining. First op was to machine the flat side, WCS was set on top of raw stock

2nd op is flip part around and WCS is bottom of the part, I made mine centered for X and Y, you can put your X and Y wherever is convenient for you to measure.

LeoC

Thanks, I understand setting Z0 on Part, but in Cam (Manufacture) the WCS is on fixed jaw and unable to just raise the Z to be at part height.

Was able to attach file now.

Thanks for zip info. File now attached. Cam shows WCS at fixed jaw and unable to move Z to part top to complete different tool paths in set up

you just have to change which Stock/Model point you selected in your Setup
