Before starting program is running down into stock

On the mill I have the stock size correct and clearance, retract, top and bottom height all correct, but when I set the origin to 0, 0, 0 and start the program it runs to X=0, Y=0, Z=-.12 then rapids to the XY starting point of the program (breaking the end mill) before going up to the retract height. How do I get it to rapid above the stock before starting the program?

Running GRBL and/or G28's on your machine with no Z limit switch I presume?

It does have a z limit switch and I'm on g54
