Yesterday I made soft jaws from Bambu Labs PETG-HF and everything worked awesome!

Looks like you need to make sure you have enough cooling. I made the same part again today and did not have enough mist cooling... the part got hot, heated the PETG and let's say good by end mill.

I told my wife and she said wow.... Last year you had brain surgery.... This year you broke your first end mill... We are off to a good year!

Just curious if anyone has had luck 3D printing soft jaws. If so, what kind of filament have you used. I am contemplating printing soft jaws from carbon fiber enforced nylon. Please let me know your thoughts.

Richard

Titans has videos on the subject!

Regular PLA would work, but once.
You'll need something like a Markforged to do "real" ones.

I am curious how the new Bambu would do with carbon filament, I've heard that the quality of the prints is on par with the MarkForged. We have a Markforged in the Birmingham Tech Center (UK), as well as the Bambu X1 and from what I gather, most folks prefer the Bambu

I have a Bambu and that is what I plan on using. They are amazing inexpensive printers. I'm trying to figure out the best filament. I'll let you know how it goes.

I regularly 3D print vise jaws from PLA. I also print fixtures for machining, inspection, welding, and laser marking. Additionally I print flanging dies, bead rolling dies and hammer forming dies.

Aluminum ExtrusionUnusually Shaped PartUneven Parallels
