Dmg Mori Cmx 800 Celos post processor

Hey Friends, really new to the cam world, I wonder if anyone has a post for a Dmg cmx 800 with celos? Started to get some quotes in and seems expensive, but again I'm completely new. Any recommendations or help welcome!

Celos is just DMG GUI front end, what controller is it actually running?
It could be Siemens or Heidenhain

is it just a basic 3 axis mill?

It’s a Celos control, I think it runs mapps. Yes basic 3 axis.

Like I mentioned CELOS isn't the controller its just DMG's user interface

see in this image from the DMG website the machine is offered with 3 options

Siemens, Heidenhain and Fanuc

If it is the Mapps Fanuc control then the Fanuc post processor from the library would be a good place to start

I would recommend paying someone to create a post for you as unless you are comfortable making modifications to the post yourself.

I would imagine for a basic machine such as this a post would only be a few hundred dollars for piece of mind in having the correct output

If it is a CMX with a Fanuc control, just start with the AD post. And forget about the description of a DMG Mori CMX series horizontal machining center with optional rotary table and a FANUC control. This post is for the verticle.

So, I tried that post but it says on the machine "file can't be written''. Any ideas?

It sounds like the machine might have trouble loading the NC code.

Do you have a programming manual for the machine or some sample codes from the machine?

Make sure you are not running Fanuc code on Heidenhain or Siemens 🙂

Take a photo of the machine control panel, at least we'll be able to identify the controller.
