Just ran our first part today with the new update, same program as always, just a reposted code. We run the "turn in negative diameter" for this bar and with this update it post out M4 instead of M3. Blew our bar apart.

Anyone else have this issue yet?

@sales.sjmachining In previous releases of Fusion the "turn in negative diameter" parameter was under an optional flag and did not output the right spindle direction. it was up to users to modify the post processor to get the correct spindle direction M code. With the recent update we fixed this issue by adding the ability to override the spindle direction on the operation level so users would not have to modify the post processor to get the correct spindle direction M code. While loading older files we added the following warning for operations with "turn in negative diameter" already enabled: "Turning in Negative Diameter has changed the spindle rotation. Make sure the output in the NC code is correct. To prevent damage, the spindle needs to rotate towards the tool insert."

Going forward we recommend users to revert any post processor modifications that were made to output the correct spindle direction M code and use the spindle direction parameter in the operation instead, which will automatically reverse it by default when you check "turn in negative direction".

Regards,

Unless I'm missing something, it appears AD has removed the ability to set spindle direction in the tool library and it has to be set per-operation.

If I have a tool which does not match the default spindle direction, I must remember to set each operation for that tool individually. Not only will this eventually lead to a crash, it also means every operation throws a spindle-direction warning flag.

This seems...suboptimal.

Example - I have a boring bar I use for OD & ID turning with the insert on the back side and tip-down orientation. Fusion assumes the rotation is M3 (insert frontside, as shown), and I have to change direction in each operation.

The automatic spindle reversal works well when 'turn in negative X' is selected, but why remove the tool-level spindle direction setting?
