It is only a warning indicating that the heights specified have been lifted automatically to account for the specified model and settings. It can normally be ignored. However, in some cases you could get out of limit errors on the CNC machine if the Z is too high.

I'm trying to use a zigzag ramp in a 3d pocket clearing operation. When zig zag is selected, the options shown are for a helix type, and that also the type of toolpath created.

It will try to make zigzag ramps when possible. However, for 3D Pocket the behavior is currently such that it will fallback to helical ramp if there is no room for the zigzag ramp. I'll follow up on this one.

2D Pocket wont fallback to helical ramp.

There is plenty of room for zig zag motion, the tool is entering in the center of the area to be cleared out. Also, the parameters for the operation are still for a helix type move even though zigzag is selected.

It seems to fall back to a helix a lot, I don't think I've got it to use anything else. Here's a simple example, I've set the ramp to profile but it uses a Helix even though profile should work.

http://a360.co/14IhojL

Another problem in the file for some reason it creates 2 levels even though I've set the maximum step down to 15mm, how can I get just one level. I've had this happen a few times and the only way I've got 1 level is to set the Top Height to -1 of something.

Also what does the warning on the toolpath mean and what have I set wrong.

Thanks mark.

Yes, when there is room for the helical ramp it will be preferred over the zigzag ramp. It will work as expected in one of the following updates.

I get that error all the time! I think the error mesage should say "lift", and not "lifting". In anycase, raising the retraction plane to 17mm (because your safe distance in linking is set to 16mm) clears the error.
