There is certainly value for the customer, as without us, Autodesk/Fusion360 wouldn't exist. The reality is that there are 1000's of awesome ideas that need to make it into the product and there is a constant balancing of hierarchy of importance. It's not an unlimited development team, so the chances of everyone's "essential feature" making it into Fusion in a timely fashion is very low. We do have Stock Comparison of sorts via the "Comparison" option. That doesn't give direct measurement ability, but will flag us if there is something with large deviation. Still, that needs work, and they are aware.

Hi There,

I am missing a function to compare the simulated stock with the model. In HSM exists a checkbox that opens a colored material comparison. When will this be availeble for Fusion 360. Is is quite essential for professional use.

Regards

Andreas

It's been requested a few times. For now you can get some feed back from the info tab on the simulation dialog, Distance show the amount of material under the mouse pointer.

... thanks for the info Mark. This will help a bit, but only on small/easy models. If the model is bigger or more complex you will surely miss some areas with rest material. Is there a concret plan to implement this function (again: in HSM it already exisits). It is a basic function of most of the major CAM software in the market.

Andreas
