Thanks for the link, but that's not really what I'm talking about. I'm trying to pattern the instance of the part within the stock, not pattern toolpaths.

I'm sure there is an easy way to do this but it's still confusing. Here is what I'm trying to do.

I have a single part and a known size piece of stock. .5" X .75" X 5". I would like to machine 5 of the same part out of this single piece of aluminum, make soft jaws then flip the stock and machine the back side.

My problem is how do I make copies of the part, and move them inside of the stock that Fusion defines? I would think this is a simple CAM operation where I could duplicate the part, move it in the X- axis and be done. I do know about defining stock from a solid model, but I should be able to define stock in CAM and just add more instances, right? Or does Fusion not work that way? Do I have to do all the setup in the Model environment?

If your looking at making a pattern of the physical part inside the stock, you will need to use the model space. The CAM pattern only allows you to pattern the toolpaths

usually easier to make the toolpaths once then pattern them. Otherwose you will be doing the same cam over and over. Unless you plan on making commonline toolpaths that cut on the differents parts with the same operation.

Can you elaborate on this? I have modeled a individual plate, now I would like to mill multiple plates (an array) from one single piece of stock. One problem I'm running into is, collisions due to off sets based on an lone piece.

I believe what I'm asking is; can the individual parts be combined such that it is seen by the cam as a single part before generating tool paths. Is this what you allude to with the guidance to solve this in the model space?

Thanks,

Try selecting the contours from all the parts in one operation.
