The reason your original file from the fist post give an error is because your contour selection is wrong. Did you examine the files from me and @Steinwerks?

Here's a screencast to give you a bit better idea how to make selections for clearing. When you make the selections make sure the red arrows are on the side you want to remove.

This is probably my favorite. Reducing the minimum radius and stepover:

If I were going to go further I'd increase the stay down distance to something like 6" and the amount to 90%. I have found that unless your machine has great rapid acceleration (IE a small Matsuura, Brother or Robodrill) it's almost always faster to stay down unless you're hopping over the part, and increase the high feedrate to the maximum of the machine.

Face selection like you used has been unreliable with native Fusion designs and imported files, edge selection is more reliable. Edge selection for pockets is quite obvious but when you are clearing a core like your example it's not so obvious.

For example, selecting a closed pocket with islands you'd select like this.

For clearing, the outer profile is selected as the stock contour, like this.

Honestly Pocket Selection is a TERRIBLE way to define this toolpath's geometry selection, especially given that there are so many folks using this software who are unfamiliar with CAM coming into it for the first time. I wish the Fusion and InvHSM teams had stuck with geometry definitions identical to HSMWorks because they make SO much sense. "Pocket Selection" does not.

My solution is exactly what I would do in HSMWorks/HSMXpress: select the chains you do NOT want to cut, and turn off "Machine Cavities" (except this has been REMOVED in Fusion, making this far less intuitive) so it cuts outside of those selections. Calling them "Pockets" just confuses the crap out of people.

It's even more difficult when the language is incorrect, which is what Steinwerks was saying. It should not say "pocket selections", it should say "model selections". Because "pocket selections" implies that you are always selecting the pockets to machine, which is NOT TRUE when you are machining the outside of a core or boss. This may seem like a minor issue, but it is horribly confusing to people that are new to 2D geometry selection in Fusion. This REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to be fixed.

And yes, as was also mentioned face selection is not very reliable. This has been an issue for quite awhile and also needs to be fixed.
