I used to just have the basic 3d mouse, and I had the same issues. Now I have the fancy pro one and have updated to the latest drivers, and it has not helped at all.

Anyone else having serious stability issues? Prior to a few weeks ago, I could count on one hand the number of Fusion crashes I've experienced, and those I could always point to something stupid I was doing that lead to it. Now, I seem to be crashing at the least little thing. Go to Model, change a small feature, go back to CAM and click on the Setup. Freeze and Crash.

Open up an Operation, zoom in to select the proper chain. Crash.

Select a bunch of operations and CTRL+G. Crash.

Please tell me I'm not alone in this. You guys all know I love the software, so this isn't a rant, just more a plea out of desperation......

I've not noticed more crashes, the post with the arc splitting up where I figured out it was because the first sketch was not fully constrained for example. You said you got a crash just selecting the setup after modifying the sketch, I didn't have that problem. It would crash if I just tried a regen, that has been a problem for a long time but I could edit the op and reselect the contour no problem.

I think the update 2 weeks ago made Fusion unstable for some, when everyone was complaining I built a mould tool without any trouble and in the last 2 weeks worked through to machining and it's all gone quite well. The tool has external linked\imported step files that drive the cavities and the impression blocks have some complicated links back to the step files and it's all gone better than I expected.

Here's a screen grab of the model.

Clipboard01.png

And maching for the cavity and core.

One bug I have noticed and reported is ops and setups disappear if you go to the model space then back to CAM. I haven't figured out a repeatable pattern though.

Interesting. What you have is definitely more complex that what I have. I SO wish I was having this issue on any of my normal parts. The 4 jobs I've got issues with (so far) are all buried in NDA so it limits what I can share. In specific instances, I have stripped out a lot of stuff and sent it off to AutoDesk for evaluation. They were able to reproduce the crash but had no clue what was causing it...

EDIT: And yes, after every crash I submit a Crash Report, if it gives me the option. Sometimes it just stops responding and I have to force close and I don't get the option to submit

Both of the crashing files were created and modeled a week or so before the update a few weeks back. I did not start applying CAM data to them until the day of the update. It's been a struggle since then. I never thought of dumping everything and starting from scratch. Kinda too far into that to consider that option 😞

I wish it was simply a hardware issue. I'd go out right now and buy the best desktop (or laptop) I could find. My computer is running an i7, 32gb ram, 2gb nvidia. Yeah.....

I mean, it "might" be a computer issue. I did build this machine, but it's running all legit software, no random programs running in the background, just exists for me to run my shop.

Every time it crashed and I was given the opportunity, I submitted a crash report. I choose that phrasing to my answer because I'm not always given the option. Sometimes it crashes with the option, other times it's simply frozen solid requiring me to kill the application. A little side confession; my CER's, while they did explain what I was doing at the time of crash, did end up developing a bit of snarky attitude as the crashes became more common.

It's happened on my Windows 10 PC in the shop, my Windows 7 PC in the house (i5, 16gb ram, 1gb nvidia) and of course this dinosaur laptop I'm on, but I don't want to include that machine in the discussion, as I REALLY SHOULD NOT be running on this machine. (64mb graphics, 512 mg ram, i3)

FWIW, frequent crashes in F360 have been my ongoing experience for quite some time. As with several other posters, I usually post some info about the crash when asked to do so, but in many cases, F360 just freezes, and I have to force quit to end it. One commonly occurring instance is just trying to save a new version on a medium sized project. I tried to do that last night, left it running overnight, but this morning the "wait" wheel was still spinning. I must say that it doesn't appear that anyone ever reads those crash reports, as I have repeatedly written about the same symptoms (over several months) and never seen any acknowledgment that there was a problem. Also, FWIW, I am working on a Mac (high end iMac new last Fall), where most other folks seem to be working in Windows. Also somewhat contrary to other reports in this thread, the number of crashes (crashes/day) does seem to be down a bit since the last update, but there are way too many to call F360 a stable product.

I don't have time at the moment to select all the curves in your file but I got this far in a minute or 2 without any problems. The files attached at this point, I'll see if I can do the rest later.

To be brutally honest I'd say Fusion is the wrong program for something like that. For 3d work it produces the best toolpaths I've seen, but for 2d it rather limited. From what I've read HSM was developed for 3d mould and die work and the 2d was more a demo for HSMExpress. The 2d capabilities are good enough for adding pockets to a mould you might not want to model in 3d but it doesn't really have the tools to work with all those curves.

Did you write down your email address into the CER? It is needed to retrieve the related reports.

Thanks,
Dave

I've also noticed the issues in the last few days. Non stop crashing. I counted about 5-6 times on Friday alone. Again doing simple stuff like editing a drill cycle. Right click, select edit, then crash. Today it's happened twice again. The next issue, is I go to open Fusion again, and it hangs on the logo screen. I need to force close it, and try opening again.

I log everytime it crashes, because I know it helps developers. The recent one is: CER_134768178
