I'm hoping someone can help here.... I have built several designs from scratch of the Machine im trying to simulate, with no real change. I cant find any information on how basic components should be configured.

I can create a functioning Design with 5 basic components and 4 joints, everything works great. If i then create a new machine definition and relevant details and Kinematics that all work fine... its just when i get to the machine builder and pass it a good model, the builder explodes the design, randomly moving components to random coordinates. It seems to be random as this explosion happens differently for every different design i pass it.

If i try and simulate with this machine definition, it simulates with the model exploded even further apart!

It must something i'm missing, any help would be welcome, i must have sunk 20+ hours into this with the same result.

First Time posting... lets see if i can get these images up correctly so you can see them.... and get the machine file attached....

@vdepewPSMEK ,

The problem with your machine simulation file is that multiple origins existed across multiple components. The machine builder and subsequently machine simulation reverts the components to their origins in what you aptly described as "exploded".

I fixed this for you by moving all the bodies into the root directory, then created components from those bodies. Then followed the normal machine builder workflow .

Since i didn't have your Tormach 2.cps file, you will need to open the machine simulation file (attached) and add this in, and lastly you will need to play with your machine axis limits to make sure they are accurate. I took a guess . I've highlighted them in the video with my circling cursor 🙂

Let us know if you have any other problems.

Hi Kieran,

First of all, thanks so much for taking the time, to look at this and rebuild my file. I actually did this process of copying bodies into the parent container, deleting the components and then recreating new components from objects, just to get a shared origin as you did to try and solve the issue. I then created all the joints and component origins moved again but everything i read told me that everything was relative and i didnt need to worry.. i guess machine builder cares. Anyway i ran through the whole exercise again but exactly aligning each body to its home position... starting with the chuck (part attachment point) at the parent origin and working backwards from there.

I ran through everything in your video, and replace the Post with the standard Tormach.cps from the fusion library.. my file was a direct copy of it with just the name changed... the machine builder looks to be right now and functions correctly. I can specify the machine in a setup and attach a part.. again everything looks good. I can create an NC program with no errors.. i just cant get the simulation working... theres a machine mismatch...

"Machine Configuration is overridden by the post script" i believe i posted a screenshot of the error above.

I have attached a copy of the new machine that i created, using you instructions... i have changed all references in the part file to use the default tormach post and selected it in the machine definition.... there's obviously something else im missing... any ideas on this error?

Hi

The Problem is that you likely have a rotary set in the NC program/post settings

This should be set to "No Rotary" for using machine simulation
