I'm having a hard time figuring out what geometry to select to machine the pocket on the attached part. My machining strategy was going to be to 2d adaptive clear the pocket to rough dimension then contour the final ID and OD of the part then do the outside slot with a keycutter as the last operation. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Roger

Your tool is too big. It's a 10mm slot (.393) and your tool is .375. It's not able to calculate out an adaptive pass with those parameters. Switch to a smaller tool, or change things like Stock to Leave, Min Cutting Radius, Optimal Load
