CAM Machine Configurations Preview will not go away when disabled

Hi all,

I enabled the CAM machines configuration preview, but it seems to behave very unpredictably still, so I disabled it in preferences and restarted Fusion 360, but when attempting to create new posts, it still requires the "Machine configuration", even though the preview is not enabled. This makes it impossible to create new posts without selecting a machine configuration for the feature that is disabled.

Even with the preview now disabled, the machine selection is required to create a post and the machine selection dialog seems to still allow for a selection to be made.

It's a touch confusing when "disable" means "still enabled anyway".

How can actually disable this preview since disabling it in preferences does not disable it?

A little more info.

I waited for the preferences to sync to the cloud before reporting this issue. I tried every combination of disabling "preview" features and the only way to get rid of the "machines configuration" feature was to disable all preview features, let it sync, then restart.

I then attempted to enable only the "UI Preview" and "Manufacture Workspace" and restarted, and upon restart, the "CAM Machine Configurations" was selected again, so it appears to be auto-enabling based on the other selections.

Lastly, I disabled all preview features again, and only enabled the "Manufacture Workspace" and restarted, only the "Manufacture Workspace" was enabled after the restart. I then selected the UI Preview and restarted, and the "CAM Machine Configurations" was disabled this time. There appears to be an order-of-operation bug where the "CAM Machine Configurations" auto-enables depending on the order of preview options selected/deselected.

Ok, this is getting a tad frustrating.

The preferences again show that the "CAM Machine Configurations" is disabled, but new posts are still requiring the machine selection. The machine selection is required if either the "CAM Machine Configurations" is enabled or the "Manufacture Workspace - Additive Machines" is enabled (but the latter also has the all the CNC mills and lathes listed under machine selection, even when "CAM Machine Configurations" is finally disabled).

It would be great to try some of the new features, but it's way too unpredictable as is for a production application, so I am going to have to disable all of them again. I hope it gets ironed out soon the concepts seem promising.

Hi -

Enabling the additive preview also implicitly activates machine configurations.

So, to fully disable that, you should disable additive.

We are working on a change that will require the machine only for additive setups.

Thanks for the reply. I really want to use the machine configurations feature, but it seems to cause some unexpected behaviors that I do not yet have time to chase down (namely, it seems to negatively affect how the post is generated, but I'll hopefully have time to test it further in the coming weeks). I also really like the "manufacture" concept, it makes a lot of sense. It will be great when I can take advantage of all of these great new features.
