x axis no milling straight down. creating a staircase wall. not straight down.

so im cutting letters out of poly carbonite when i cut individual letters it mill fine. but when i try to mill out a few letters the x axis shifts over a step and creates a stair like steps on the x axis side. anybody know what the problem is?

im not really sure what you mean by "model" sorry im super new. im a college student and i taught my self fusion and made my cnc from scratch. and post process i think this means if im using MACH3? and yes i bought mach 3 cause universal gcode sender was too unreliable for me.

so im milling a 12 mm sheet of polycarbonite. im milling in multiple depths. in increments of 3 mm deep. when it mills the "pockets" like the inside of the "D" it mills perfectly fine. straight walls every depth of cut. but once it gets to the outside contour cuts. it shifts over a 1 mm or so the X axis side only every depth. so it creates like a stair case. not a straight wall.

i have a water cooled spindle on it now.

i have attatched the g code i am using. please HALP!! LOL this is a wedding gift for my friends in december please halp!

notice the steps on the outside contour but not in side the "B"

Looking at the pictures, I'm inclined to start pointing fingers at Mach3 and/or the machine.

What happens if you very slowly recut over the same features? Additional material removal or does it cut air?

I'm not a Mach3 user, so I don't have a lot to suggest in this area. I'm sure @daniel_lyall might have some suggestions for you

for sure its not the machine because i can cut individual letters out without having this problem.

also i am using a water cooled spindle. not the router.

i am not sure if its mach3 or the gcode it self from fusion.

I dont think it is because of the g-codes because from the codes you have sent seems fine there is no x-shifts in the codes for every depth it is going the coordinate positions are same for every points as you see like this

I dont know why the machine gives you the step outside only when the codes have no X shifts.

is this the contour cut on the outside? i cant seem to find this part in gcode.

It looks like the machine is having issues (losing steps) or the material is moving due to load and not being secured well enough.

You are plunging the cutter into the material what is a big no-no.

Have a look at the attached model I have done a contour toolpath how I do it, I have been doing it this way for years it works really well.

YOU WERE RIGHT!!!

the coupling connecting the drive motor and the screw drive was missing screws!!!! omg thank you for everyones help. also i learned how to ramp my cuts not plunge striaght in to the stock!!
