The tool is a STGAR facing tool. When I reset the Setup Orientation back to zero, the insert is on the wrong side of the holder as well as the cutting edge is facing away from the part. I have attached the file. maybe you can see what is wrong.

I am trying to set up some lathe tools for a Tormach RapidTurn. The tool should be coming down vertically (X axis) with the insert on the back side of the tool as shown in the below picture.

I have played around with the Setup > Orientation in Turrent setting and changing it from a right hand tool to a left hand tool. The closest I could get was getting the tool as shown below.

The problem is that the insert is on the wrong side. It should be on the back of the tool. Also the cutting edge of the insert is on the wrong side. It should be toward the end face of the stock. I also played with the turret settings in the Post Processor tab. Tried 0,1,2 with no results.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

You shouldn't need to be doing anything special, it should just be a normal right handed tool

Here is a standard VNMG tool from my library:

What tool are you trying to create exactly?

Looks like a threading tool in your image.

The Turret settings in the post tab affect how the code is post processed but not how the tool is represented in Fusion.

Looking at the post the ere are these options for the turret :

"Valid RapidTurn Turrets are 0/2/4."

Again these do not affect how you set the tool up in Fusion

Just so you're aware; we do have some enhancements coming in the future that should make things more clear to users how the tool is aligned.
