I should add a few things I forgot in that post. I'm on version 2.0.5119. I never noticed it before Nov. 29th, but I also haven't needed to update any of my CAM in several months, so it could have happened in an update before that.

Also, I made a cylinder with a chamfer to make before parting, hoping to see the same error by using the tools from the above file and wasn't even able to make any toolpath. I was hoping to determine if something is wrong with the tool setup, but I couldn't even make it that far.

Let me know what else we need to do to sort this out. Thanks!

Hi guys,

I'm hoping I'm just missing something simple and dumb, but I opened up a file with a proven CAM setup, saved a copy, changed a dimension slightly, then went into CAM and regenerated the setup. My chamfer on the backside of the part went from working fine to not working. It looks like Fusion is dragging the tool into the part by the width of the insert before actually doing the chamfer. I went back into the original file (no dimension changes) and just regenerated the setup to see what would happen (I thought something might have happened when I changed the dimension). Fusion changed the chamfer to the problem version. To make sure I wasn't going crazy, I made a brand new part with a similar chamfer and made a completely new grooving tool to do the chamfer with. I get the same results of the problem toolpath.

The first picture below is the current program (with the chamfer issue). The second picture is an old file of a similar part that still has the chamfer toolpath I want.

The problem version.

The old (good) version.

I'm at a loss for what I'm missing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Akash,

Sorry for the delay. Our holiday sales went crazy and I've been scrambling to keep up with production. Anyway, now that that's over I hope to get back to this.

Here's the file: https://a360.co/2F0s9TN

I did just regenerate it and still have the same error. Thanks!

I have managed to replicate this issue. It's a problem specific to cutting a chamfer with the right side of a grooving tool and was introduced when we implemented multiple passes for chamfering. I have made a task for this and we will be looking into implementing it soon.

I apologize for the delay in responding. The only workaround for now is to shift the Z coordinate of the toolpath manually through the insert width while machining with the right side of the tool. However we are actively working on fixing this issue so it can be released in an upcoming release.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to backdate the version of Fusion I'm running so I can get that functionality back? I do that move four times a program and have several dozen versions of that program for each bushing. Changing all of that by hand feels like it's asking for transcription errors.

It worked for me. Thanks for all of the updates.

I would like to reiterate that having the capability to roll back an update, even just to whatever I updated from, would be a HUGE feature for Fusion. I was just dealing with something that was annoying and mildly time-consuming to edit in terms of manual code, but if this was something with a mill op, I would have been dead in the water. I'm sure there are users who have a lot more revenue on the line than me and would have been significantly hurt by the error in the CAM that previously worked. Just a thought for future development. I know for me, it would eliminate the need to look for a backup software solution and keep me in the Fusion/AutoDesk ecosystem.
