Hi

There was an issue with your machine simulation that the tool attachment point was set to the table not the spindle causing the machine sim to have the tool miles from the spindle.

This isn't causing any issues with the posted code though.

The reason you are getting the large negative numbers in 5 axis mode is because you have to rotate the C axis basically 180 deg to get to the other side of the part and with TCP on this will command the values as if the tool has to reach over the part, this is normal for TCP(I get the exact same numbers using the Heidenhain and Mazak posts I know works)

Why you are getting a machine overtravel I am not sure, do you know which line of code it happens on?

Its quite possible that your machine has some parameters set incorrectly that's not translating the coordinates correctly when M128 is on.

I know Fanuc and Mitsubishi/Mazak controls have parameters that control the behaviors of TCP.

Like here for the Mazak you need parameter F85 bit 2 to be 0 and F86 Bit 6 is 1 for TCP to work correctly with Fusion

Hi

Often the TCP compensated values don't make sense but in this case you have tried to run it on the machine and it doesn't work.

I'm not familiar with Hurcos at all, it does seem odd that 3+2 works but not simultaneous.

I notice in your 3+2 code there is no G68.2, this would potentially explain the difference in the values your seeing.

Do you have G68.2 checked in the post properties?

If you could share the file it will help greatly with diagnosing the issue.

Goto File>Export>save as .f3d/.f3z and attach to a reply.(drag and drop the file into the reply )

Hi

I've tried with G68.2 on and off but it posts the exact same code for both

I've attach a file it'll only let me post in the forum as a step for some reason, there was an issue with the machine configuration in fusion it had the A + C axis rotating the opposite direction that what they do in the machine it self so I'm not convinced the post for the Hurco VTXU is very accurate

Thanks

Hi

Unfortunately a step file is no use, we need the Fusion file that has your setups and toolpaths etc.

It will likely be a .f3z file so you need to drag and drop into the reply not attach via browse, or you can zip the file and attach

Im not sure about the simulation because the first time I used it the tool was in the spindle

Its N19 that out but by -487mm meaning even if the Y value was 0 it would be out

It deleted the full N19 + N20 line and there was no errors so I tried running but it was traveling to the centre of the table so I stopped

Ill have a look at the machine parameters and see if I can find anything

Hi

I'm still struggling with this issue

I've fixed the tool attachment point

Cant find anything in the parameters either, the machine does have the 5ax simultaneous option

I tried posting a 3+2 program which works fine but with the g68.2 selected and it comes up with the out of machine limits

All the hurco 5ax simultaneous sample programs I find us I,J,K values

Is there anything else you suggest

Or is there anyway I can post it the old fashion way with no M128,G8.2,G68.2,G43.4 ect and just have it post loads of code for every movement like it does with my 3+2 work

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

You can post with out any TCP etc BUT its considerably more complex to setup as you must effectively know exactly where your Centers of rotation are and set them up in the machine in Fusion and you have to Program with Your WCS located at the COR of the machine.

this means you cannot just place a part on the table and probe it up and have the machine figure out how to move every thing you need to position the part in Fusion exactly how it is in the machine.

I wouldn't recommend going this route as its a lot of work and if you don't have a really good understanding of what's going on you won't get good results.

Looking at those documents you've attached this seems to be the relevant issue:

This shouldn't be a problem though as Fusion is prepositioning the rotary axes before activating TWP.

It may be though.

The IJK moves are using tool vectors for 5 ax but fusion doesn't use these with Machine simulation to ensure the correct solution is used.

Id recommend finding a good reseller to work with you on getting the post sorted

https://www.autodesk.com/support/partners?services=Post%20Processor
