You don't "create" spun profile, instead, you check box in setup when there are mill features that interfere with round shape of a turned part. Fusion ignores cutouts and cavities when programming turning and acts as if milled features were not there.

@maluv888 wrote:
But my application involves milling of a spiral bevel gear, just like the
one shown in the video. Hence I need to create Spun Profile

Well, perhaps wording was not correct, in mill-turn jobs we have parts that have mill and turn features. To be able to program turn features we have to mask mill features, otherwise broken round features create problem for Fusion.

So the point is, we don't create spun profile, we acknowledge existence of one by turning on check box, which enables Fusion to ignore mill features while generating tool paths for turning.

It's like tying a nut on one end of a string, holding other end of a string and spinning it, you create an allusion of closed circle when in fact all you have is a string that changes position within that circle.

This allusion of continuous circle is what "fools" Fusion into generating turning tool paths as if there were no breaks or inconsistencies in any of the turned features,........ so by turning on check box in setup, you could say that you created spun profile, there is nothing else to do, you're done with a single click of a mouse.

Here you go.

It is a normal thing in fusion to make and use defeatured models, sketches and surfaces they all work well and have their places.

Excellent Daniel. but to create the defeatured model, Is there any shortcut to select all the teeth of the Bevel Gear in one single click ? , instead of selecting each one individually ( which consumes time )

If you have lathe, your first option is to turn all round features, you can program that without having to delete teeth, just turn on "spun profile" in setup and move on, that is its purpose.

You can also create separate bodies or components, delete or add features to suit individual purpose, simplify things or just have better organized work flow. That would come into play with complex parts with a lot of features.

I have not done anything in Fusion that was not doable in 1-3 setups and my parts are generally withing capability of machines I run, it all depends on what you have to work with, ideally taking advantage of favorable ways first.

Not that I know of, a flat surface can be click done a curved surface can take a bit more effort to get done for 3 Axis stuff, A lathe would make it easy you would turn a blank.

Do you have a model of the Gear you want to cut the one in the pick to cut the root of the gear will require a lollypop cutter? it is one I grabbed of grabcad so it could well be wrong.

Having it set up like the first pick you will be able to cut out the sides of the gear the teeth will be a problem doing it that way, it can be done as a 3 Axis part.
