New update - new hidden features to try

Hello all,

Well, another month, another update. I hope you are loving the new features. I for one am a big fan of accessibility shading.

This update also brings a few goodies that we'd really like to get some feedback on:

New Turning Strategies for Roughing and Finishing:
- These strategies are much more streamlined and offer better control over gouging, leads, tangential extensions etc.
New "Rotary" toolpath. This gives us a toolpath that nudges us in the right direction of true "wrap" machining!
- Containments on this toolpath is still a work in progress. That said, it was a big enough step forward we wanted to give a few of your power users a chance to try it out.

Neither one of these are readily visible in the product, but are hidden under a "feature flag". Think of it as sort of a "Beta Test" of a tool that is being developed. Now, turning these on and using them DOES assume a fair amount of risk on your part. Autodesk doesn't imply any guarantee as to the quality or performance of these tools. They are still in development and are to be used AT YOUR OWN RISK!

How do we turn them on? For now, follow the directions below.

Go up to the File and turn on "Show Text Commands"
Set to "Txt" (the default is "Py" I believe)
type in "cam.f" in the text box and hit the enter key on the keyboard.
That's it, the new strategies are now available for testing!

Couple things to mention:

We will be changing the process of how you access these in-development features to provide more consistency across Fusion. More details to follow.
To turn off the feature flags, just type "cam.f" and un-tick the boxes.

Al, this is awesome stuff!

Something I feel should be mentioned to the community though; There ARE feature flags that aren't at the stage of completion as the two features Al mentioned, and as such, I want to temper expectations.

1) Multiple Speeds and Feeds. Great idea, riddled with many issues that will cause toolpaths to fail or behave in very unexpected ways. Do NOT use.

2) Web-Tool-Library. This one is still useful to look at and offer feedback on, but there is some functionality missing and some of the UI is..clunky. The team is hard at work on improving what is there, so stay tuned 🙂

I have been waiting for this one, I did not want to have to learn MasterCAM, or Powermill for just this feature. Now I can finish programming my PICKLE RICK.

I would suggest that any bug reports or "How do I..." sort of posts deserve their own thread. Thank you all for trying out the new toys and looking forward to how you utilize them!

First, turn on "View Text Commands" which is CTRL+ALT+C

Next, we set it to "Txt"

Lastly, we input "cam.f" in the text field (no " " though)

Why feature flag menu in not working right now? It just redirects to preview in settings!?

Preview settings are where they are now they decided to let all users try the new stuff, not everyone knew about it.

Some of the preview features are in the commercial licenses only.

And some of the preview items are "whitelist" users only. They aren't quite ready for general usage and testing, but usable enough for a select group of customers to start flogging on it and seeing where it falls short.
