Classification Manager Picklist Values Disappearing

Hello,

We're trying to use the Classification Manager and we have a few picklists. Unfortunately when I go to edit the picklist within a class to change the field to required it does one of three things:

1. Works fine, no issues. Happens most of the time.

2. Duplicates the entire picklist and does not allow me to save (obviously because of the duplicate values). However, if I delete the duplicate values and save. If I pull up the list again it shows it as BLANK with NO VALUES.

3. The picklist values are wiped completely.

#2 and #3 happened multiple times now across different picklists causing me to remake the picklist and reassign to EVERY CLASS again. Unfortunately by the time I'm done putting in the picklist and clicking require for the classes that need the list it usually messes up again by either method #2 or #3.

Hi Curtis,

Thank you for the report. Sounds like a very serious bug and I would like to work on it as soon as possible! I have not been able to see this bug myself yet so I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this as well? One thing I did note that may help mitigate this issue is that we don't block the user from continuing to work before the previous action is completed. So it might be possible that a new Edit operation is using the data that was cached for an object from before the previous Edit operation. If you wait for the Green confiramtion dialog following any Edit operation before initiating the next Edit operation, do you still see this issue? Can you maybe share a quick video that shows the problem?

I can definitely see how doing actions (editing) quickly could cause a problem. But waiting for the green flag to appear after each edit would cause making any major changes / initial setup, take forever.

I would definitely consider preventing the user from continually make changes if the caching is an issue. So far I haven't run into any issues but we'll see it occurs again. I am currently making changes but am waiting for EVERYTHING to finish loading. Also, there is no indication on when we are able to click to make changes to the fields. If we click the checkbox too soon it will show checked but not show the button for actions. So I kind of just sit there and count to 5 before I start trying to edit the class's fields.

Hi Curtis,

As Hagay mentioned, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We're working on adding, and improving, the feedback to the user and to the classification manager, by means of visual indications that content is loading - as well as improving performance of the classification manager. Nevertheless, if you could provide us with a video of the issue, it would be very helpful, as Hagay also mentioned.

By the sounds of it, seems like it's a tricky issue to reproduce, probably due to network conditions somewhere down the pipe between the application and your side. It's definitely something we need to investigate - any other information, or even screenshots that you can provide, would be helpful.

Well by waiting until the green flag appears to make any additional changes seems to fix the issue. I don't really want to try and reproduce the issue in our current tenant as everything appears to be working ok. When I have time I'll try it with the sandbox and report back.
