BOM View in WS Projects - Breakdown item Descriptor

Hi all,

My item Descriptor is comprised of NUMBER - TITLE. Example: 1000178 - FODM Module Structure [REV:w].

Items get listed WS Project BOM which represent then the deliverables in that project.

I would like to breakdown the item Descriptor to two separate columns i.e. NUMBER and TITLE in the Project BOM. Is that possible?

The answer depends on your setup. If you want to do so within the Bill of Materials tab of your project (as all the deliverables get connected in there to the project), it will not work as the BOM view then would have to display records from various workspaces (project and items). In such cases, the BOM view only can display columns of the root element, which is the project.

However, if your project is connected to a single root item (i.e. in its Item Details tab) and you connect all your deliverables to the BOM of this root item (instead the project itself), then this can be achieved by configuring the given view of the Bill of Materials Tab of your items workspace. It will work this time, as the BOM view will only show records of the same workspace (Items and BOMs).
