topic Cannot add a part to the Managed Items Tab In-Design module in Fusion Manage Forum

When attempting to add a created part REV:w into the managed items tab, the created part does not show in the selection. I can only add it when I use the Create Relationships icon. Typing the part number produced a blank when searching for it. After adding the part, then editing the managed item, the lifecycle selection pull-down is blank.

Advanced Solutions informed me there is a possible bug and to contact Autodesk.

Thanks.

Much appreciated!

Vince Ivory

Kindly check these:
- The part may already be associated with an item from revision controlled workspace ~ expose the Workflow tab (Not Workflow Actions ie the map) on the rev-controlled workspace to see a revisioning items whereUsed view from process perspective.
- OR the part may be in lifecycle state that doesn't have outgoing lifecycle transitions ~ review the lifecycle editor and note which lifecycle state is the rev-controlled item and whether there are outgoing lifecycle transitions.
- OR in the lifecycle editor, have not selected for the revisioning workspace the available lifecycle transitions for the lifecycle state that the rev-controlled item resides in, so managed tab has no options to choose from.

It worked, but only partially. I can now see the part in the Managed items,
but the revision should not be revving to A. It should be revving to 2.
Since this part is In Design only, I don't want it to go to production rev
A at this point. Please see my screenshot.

Thanks!

Vince

--
*Vincent Ivory*
Product Configuration Specialist
Decision Sciences
12345 First American Way
Poway, CA 92064
Email: vincent.ivory@decisionsciencescorp.com

--
This email and its contents are confidential.

Greetings,

Ask the admin to visit the lifecycle editor. For the lifecycle transition that you want to version only, but not revise, edit it and ensure 'increment version' is checked and 'increment revision' UNchecked. This would drive v2 and rB for that chosen transition in the managed tab.

HTH,
