Fusion Lifecycle & Fusion 360 Integration

I've been using Fusion Lifecycle for around 8 months, and Fusion 360 for a few days. Very excited by the prospect of all the Fusion products sharing a common hub and being able to cross-reference items.

I came across this video on YouTube: YouTube which runs through a scenario of an issue triggering a design change, and subsequently a Change Order. Around the 2:30 minute mark, it shows Fusion Lifecycle pointing directly to a Fusion Design, and being able to select a version. This would be immensely helpful to have a design change signed off.

Is this feature available yet for Fusion Lifecycle? Is there something I'm missing?

Hi Nicholas,

You can add the fusion design file to the attachments of the item you are on, by clicking on the add button and selecting the file from its source location.

By doing that, the entire file lineage will be added to the attachments tab of the workspace item, and thereafter, you can select a file version that you want to reference to.

Regards

Vaibhav

Thanks for taking the time to reply, vaibhav.sabharwal

Doing some more research, I fear that our tenant hasn't been updated to Cloud PDM just yet so I'm not able to pull in data from our Fusion Team site. When I click the attachments tab and upload, it opens up Windows Explorer to attach normal files - there's no link to the Fusion Designs, even if I select Autodesk Drive.

Hi Martin,

Just to confirm that I sent over my contact details last week. I did see a post earlier this week which mentioned that changing the UI to modern wasn't enough to get the cloud PDM functionality and that it was currently a manual process.

I'm now a Fusion 360 user so this would be hugely beneficial. I'm also on a beta Lifecycle tenant that doesn't have this functionality either.

Kind regards,

Nicholas
