Fusion 360 Manage - v3 api issue with item BOM

Hi,

Having some difficulties on receiving any meaningful response for the requests to the item bom endpoint using v3.

Have tried couple of different resource urls through postman, the resource urls are the same which can be tracked in browser:

1. https://<tenant>.autodeskplm360.net/api/v3/workspaces/<ws>/items/
/bom?effectiveDate=2018-10-16&revisionBias=release&rootId=
&viewDefId=23

2. https://<tenant>.autodeskplm360.net/api/v3/workspaces/<ws>/items/
/bom?depth=3&revisionBias=release&rootId=
&viewDefId=23

I'm authenticating through forge and using the same user credentials.

As an attachment you can find the response (same for every request) that I receive in postman.

The data is just some dummy data that I have created for testing, but still there should be more items found in the bom than is returned.

Probably a dumb question but have you looked at how the tenant responds via the browser dev tools? If you know how to use postman then you probably know what I'm talking about. 🙂

I guess it is an omission in the documentation, unfortunately. When you make a call as you did you will get a root level information of the whole bom. (for example total cost)

If you want to get items in the bom you need to use "Content-Type: application/vnd.autodesk.plm.bom.bulk+json"

Hope this helps.

I concur. 🙂 @giliar.defriesperez spoke with me about this. This is sort of the reason I asked to check how the browser requests accept requests. Postman will by design react the same way. If it doesn't... we are doing something wrong.

We ran into an issue around this today. The past several weeks, this call https://<tenant>.autodeskplm360.net/api/v3/workspaces/<ws>/items/
/bom has been returning a payload per the help documentation example with arrays of nodes and edges (data on the bom children) and today it only returned information about the parent bom item. Adding Accept: application/vnd.autodesk.plm.bom.bulk+json to the call now makes it return the payload we were expecting per the help documentation.
