Import Running Never Finishes

I am running imports to bring families of products into the Items and BOMs WS. The first family of products imported fine. I structured the next family of imports exactly as the first. My imports are set up as a 2-step process. I import an Item Details list for all items in the product family that we assign part numbers ourselves (custom parts and assemblies). I then import level BOMs for each product in the family but with no part numbers. The generic numbers based on FLC classifications are then created after the imports for the entire product family are completed. However, once I moved on to the second family the first level BOM I ran never finished - it was hung up running. To test it I ran another level-BOM import. That one stayed at Pending. I eventually had to delete the first one, at which time the second one began to run but also hung up.

Any places to look for what can cause an import to get stuck in the running mode?

I have attached two imports. The first is the generic one that covers our parts for the family. The second is for a specific product in the family.
