Hi Giliar,

Thank you for coming back to me on this, it is much appreciated.

Thumbnails. Understand and can confirm that the external components are generating the correct thumbnail for me.

Clarification why it shows no revision in the Properties panel: when viewing the latest version of the design, unmodified, you are going to see in the properties panel:
Lifecycle: Production
Revision: B

State: Production

Once you save new versions of the same design, you are going to get:

Lifecycle: Production

Revision: <blank>

State: Working (indicating that you moved off from the last revision)

If you open a previous version of the design, with a milestone (you can check the History panel for that), you can look at the properties panel of that particular milestone'd version, and that should show the revision and the state.

To conclude, and I hope this information clarifies some of your questions, wanted to confirm: the drawing is not showing the latest version (REV:B) no matter if you re-open the design, or even re-open Fusion 360 and look at the design again, is that right?

Giliar

Understand your comments above and have no issue with this.

To conclude, and I hope this information clarifies some of your questions, wanted to confirm: the drawing is not showing the latest version (REV:B) no matter if you re-open the design, or even re-open Fusion 360 and look at the design again, is that right?

I believe this is where the issue has occurred.

Currently the manage extension seems to be making our design control process more confusing at the moment.

There seems for me to be a data issue between the autodeskplm360, fusion 360 design and a fusion 360 drawing.

You can see in the attached image that Item RP20009/1 - Tapping Identification Sticker is currently [REV:B] . (This is also the incorrect thumbnail the Item Number was done using bulk auto numbering and all the thumbnails are of the top level component not each individual component.)

When you then click on the properties menu in fusion 360 it shows the correct Item Number but the state as working with no revision. This is also reflected in the drawing parts list with the revision.

Could someone from Autodesk please advise. Thank you in advance

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it is something else but I've been going through the drawing versions and I have noticed that when the change order was made to release the part to production the change showed the change was to A and a change order to B. When I viewed the drawing it's revision is sA?.

Hi @mike ,

I'm happy to try and help you out here, however let's break down the issue into a few different points, so that I can identify what's going on in here.

First off, I wanted to clarify this:

(This is also the incorrect thumbnail the Item Number was done using bulk auto numbering and all the thumbnails are of the top level component not each individual component.)

This is the current behaviour of the system. It's recommended to use external components for the thumbnails to reflect the design of the subassembly; internal components are going to have the thumbnail of the top level component. It's something we've been gathering feedback on, and thanks for chipping in.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah, judging by the history in the data panel, I don't see another revision milestone for REV:B, even though you clearly have that (looking at one of the other screenshots).

Can you please file a case for this? We need to ask for some extra information on the case to track down the issue.Feel free to reach out privately to me here in the forums with a message containing the case number if you prefer, and I'll work internally to have this looked at.

Silly question how do I file a case?.

Also, due to the issue with the thumbnails being the same as the top level component. I did a save as on a component in the assembly and then used an external link for the new part. I deleted the old component in the assembly but it is still showing as an item in the Fusion 360 Manage design list with the status linked. When I click on the linked text it displays the below which is correct as the component has been removed.

How can I delete the Item in the Fusion 360 manage portal?.

Thanks

Regarding your question on deleting the record from Fusion 360 Manage, that's currently not supported as the item numbers are reserved in the system My suggestion, as a temporary workaround, is to edit the item in Manage, and prepend the value in the PART DESCRIPTOR field to "DELETED", or something that fits the bill for your processes.

We are looking into improving this workflow so that the item doesn't show up in the list any more, with a more "formal" process of flagging the item as deleted.

Feedback is really appreciated, thanks for explaining your workflow.

Not to take the post off topic I will put this into the ideas section but am I correct in saying that the Items in the Fusion 360 manage browser don't differentia between an assembly and a component?. By this I mean when I click on an item that is an assembly the page doesn't have a "uses" tab, But when you click on the linked hyperlink and it takes you to Fusion Teams there is a "uses" tab.

The uses tab is great in Fusion Teams but for Fusion 360 manage it would also be beneficial to be able to swap between thumbnails and a table which would allow a user to copy an paste into excel or an other application the list of components.

I will create a case tomorrow. It is something we are collecting feedback on - how to show those relationships more clearly (such as "Uses"), to give it a clearer indication of what belongs to what. More to come on that.

Giliar
