Hi all,

I have designed a 2D front control panel for one of my projects with the location of all PCB mounted controls and cutouts detailed ( See Below). Now I want to make a PCB that aligns exactly with this front panel, holding each of the switches, led's and LCD.... To do this I took the .dxf file of the front panel and used the outline to create the PCB shape. That was easy. Where I am stuck is I also want the locations of each switch, led, etc to be shown so that I can place these components in the specific locations.

Front Panel below....

PCB Outline below. This was done through a simple "Create PCB" from the above...

I was hoping I could add the .dxf or an image of it as a Layer on the PCB.

Any ideas appreciated...

Hi, @andy2JEYH

You could leverage an ulp to import the dxf file. Open any existing board or create a new board and then save(File being saved is necessary here)->turn to automate tab, start ulp-> select import dxf to import geometries to the layer you want to locate on.

Hope that help
