topic Component name and variant showing in shematic and pcb as nae of part in Fusion Electronics Forum

Hi

I imported my altium library to fusion 360 electronics and all the parts have come across ok (except the 3D models)

The problem I have is that when I place a component I get the component name twice (I think it has named the part and variant the same and is showing both).

For example: My part for a specific capacitor is CAP0030. When I place this onto schematice I get designator "C1" (which is correct). But under the part I get "CAP0030CAP0030". Same in PCB.

I only want to see "C1" "CAP0030" on the schem and PCB

Is there a way to say hide variant showing on Shem and PCB or make them blank ?

Thanks

Having same issue and can't make variant name blank... how is this solved?

I think this is expected behavior. It's placing the label as <component name><variant name>, but you have the same name as both the component and variant. It looks like each size of capacitor is a separate component in your library. The way my library is setup there is a single component named cap_smd, then I have variants for each size, so they show up in the schematic as cap_smd-0402, cap_smd-0603, etc.

If you go into your library you can edit the component to remove the variant name as long as you have a single variant per component. Just right click on the package, rename, delete variant name. That will make it only show the component name.
