Thanks for your help again Jorge, the process you describe is exactly what I was doing but when I clicked the link icon, the schematic for the design wasn't appearing in the dialog that popped up.

What I've done now is too start afresh by selecting a new electronics design then clicking the link button to my schematic then following the steps to link to the PCB and - Bingo, it worked!

Who knows why it was behaving as it was, just annoyed it took me so long to do a simple task but I guess it's the getting there that's important.

PCB and Schematic link

Hi,

This feels like a real newbie issue but I've tried numerous times to make a simple process work which I've done several times before but for some reason this time without success.

I simply want to link a PCB design to a schematic but whichever direction I try either linking from the open PCB design or from within the open schematic, the schematic I want to link to simply isn't on the "Link To' drop-down list although it shows on the main Data Panel (as an Electronic Design) and can be opened/closed without any issues. I've also tried this being the only design open, selecting the PCB design to open it from the Data panel, then pushing this to the (open) Schematic but I get the error warning that no Electronic design is open!!

I've closed Fusion 360 then reopened and got the 'you're on the latest version' message and restarted my (Mac) without success.

The frustrating part (and to remind myself in case I'm missing something) is I've watched a number of helpful Youtube vids that step by step through this simple process but when I follow their steps I keep coming against the same issue of the design not being on the 'Link To' list.

I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions.

Hi @dave_kelman,

I hope this message finds you well. That's definitely unusual, if you have any images or better yet a screen recording of what you are running into, I'm sure we'll be able to clear this up quickly.

Just to make it as easy as possible. Make sure your schematic, 2D PCB and Electronics Design are in the same project. Now open the Electronics Design(this is the file responsible for the linking), on top toolbar you'll see 4 icons 2 for schematics and 2 for boards. Since you already have existing schematic and 2D PCB files you are going to use the link icons. First go to the schematic link icon, click it and in the dialog that pops up select the schematic. Repeat for the 2D PCB link.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems.

Best Regards,
