For some past projects I created a component with the footprint containing the outline of the PCB and any holes, pins, pads, etc that are common for the layout. Then you can just add it as any other component.

Hi everyone,

I'm starting to work on a project with standardize modules, all of them are the same regarding the PCB size, mounting holes and placement for the main connector.

What is the better way to create a PCB template and then use it for each module I have to design ?

Thanks for your help

Hi @m4vrick99,

I hope you're doing well. @drew3L45Q suggestion is a good one. Another option is to save a schematic/brd pair that just contains the outline and base setup. Then you can just do a Save as and treat that sch/brd pair as a template.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,
