Use module name in text fields

I use the value field in the schematic to label connectors, so that the same label, links through to the board. I have the value layer included in my silkscreen. This is a good way of keeping connector labels coordinated between schematic and board.

In a module definition, it would be great to be able to use the >MODULE text variable as a placeholder in the value field, so that it pulls the module name through to the board.

e.g. connector value in the module definition set to >MODULE_OUT.

connector value on the board would resolve to CH1_OUT, CH2_OUT etc

(assuming the module nams are "CH1", "CH2"...)

>MODULE is one of them, but it doesnt pull through, it just prints >MODULE on the board.

Hi @michaelWDJZX,

I hope you're doing well. The issue here is that you can't combine text variable with plain text and I don't think it's meant to be included in the Value field of components. The reference designator carries it but that's not what you are trying to do here.
