Adding Components to a Schematic

I am not new to Fusion 360 or circuit board design. I am using the Personal version of Fusion 360. I've watched many videos, but I cannot add components to my workspace window. I've tried double clicking the item in the library as well as drag and drop. Nothing appears. Is it a function not available to me as a personal user?

With the project open, I have the four windows visible with the 3D board assembly (Top & Bottom) visible, the 2D board, and the schematic.

I've been able to add a frame and several resistors. However, when I look at the schematic on the schematic tab, the window is all black.

How do I get the schematic to be visible?

With a new monitor Dell SE2722HX installed using the VGA cable, I get exactly the same results - A black screen for the schematic page and for the 2D layout page. Both are visible in the project screen. Do I have to use the HDMI cable? What am I missing? Someone please answer.

I hope you're doing well. Would you be able to post a few screenshots of what you are seeing? It's definitely not a limitation of the personal version so you don't have to worry about that. The monitor shouldn't make a difference either. It sounds like maybe something went wrong with the installation, could you try re-installing Fusion?

I uninstalled Fusion

I reinstalled Fusion

I opened the electronic project photo 1

I selected the schematic tab photo 2

I selected the pcb layout tab photo 3

Hi @rtaylorNKPDB ,

Let's start with the simplest option. In the electronics command line go ahead and type WINDOW FIT; and press the enter key.

Do you see anything on screen? DO you see the components on the schematic?

I'll bring this to the developers anyway just to be safe. Make sure that you are on the latest version of Fusion.

So sorry to hear that you're having trouble.

Could you please go to Fusion Preferences dialog and uncheck the option about "Enable GPU rendering" and then relaunch Fusion to have a try again?

Thanks for getting back to me.

I typed "WINDOW FIT" on the command line of the schematics tab and pressed the enter key.

I did the same for the 2D board design tab.

I see no change in either document.

"latest version of Fusion."

Since I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, I assume I have the latest version of Fusion.

Dear Ms. Chen,

I did as requested:

Changed the preferences "Enable GPU rendering" to deselected
Closed the program
Relaunched the program.

This now lets me see both of the screens I previously could not. Thank you for your input and for saving this day. Now to get back to learning the program more fully.

Hi @rtaylorNKPDB ,

Hope you have had a great weekend.

Our developer checked the file and we noticed that your machine is using Intel HD 4600. It's one of the graphic card which cannot support the GPU render well.

So you need to disable the GPU render on your machine in order to use it.

If you want to enable the GPU render, I think it would probably upgrade a new graphic card instead.
